Description: The NRA Basic Shotgun Course teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude for owning and operating a shotgun safely. This course is 10 hours over two days and includes both range and classroom work. Students will learn NRA's rules for safe gun handling; shotgun parts and operation; ammuniton; shooting fundamentals; range rules; cleaning and maintenance of the shotgun; and continued opportunities for skill development. Students will receive a copy of the “Basics of Shotgun Shooting” handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, and Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet. There will take a Basics of Shotgun Shooting Student Examination administered. A course certification is issued upon completion.
